Origami Face Graphic Idea

Out of all the artists I had researched for this project so far, the one I was most inspired by was Hector Sos.
In his series Paper Faces, he covers the faces of his models with origami pieces. I decided to take this idea but add a twist to it.
Instead of covering the face with origami, I wanted to create a face from origami pieces which could be used as a graphic in the CU Studio shop.

This piece was quite experimental and I was improvising as I went along, but I think this means that it is quite open to development for further ideas.
As this was just a rough initial example, I wanted to use quite simple shapes. The flesh tone areas of the face are squares, the nose and the eyebrows are just long thing rectangles and the shapes for the eyes and mouth have been made from circles.
There are still a few things about this that I would tweak - making the eyes and lips more proportional - but I think this has been a good starting ground for designing more graphics for this project.

I think when I come to develop this it would be interesting to play around with it in photoshop to see what effects I can add to this and possibly use it to make a print.
